Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Filling: 2 pounds Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg 2 tbsp. melted butter
Topping: 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp. all purpose flour 1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp. old fashioned oatmeal 1/4 cup plus 3 tbsp. sugar 1/4 cup plus 3 tbsp. brown sugar 12 tbsp. butter, diced
Directions
For Filling: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Toss together apple slices, both sugars, cinnamon and nutmeg in a large bowl. Let stand 20 minutes.
Transfer apples to a 6 cup casserole dish and drizzle with melted butter.
For Topping: Combine the flour, oatmeal and both sugars in a medium bowl. Cut in diced butter until coarse crumbs form. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the filling.
Bake crisp 30 to 40 minutes until topping is browned and filling is bubbly. Serve warm.
Serves 4 to 6.
