Cinnamon Crisps: 2 prepared 9 inch pie crusts 2 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Apple Dip: 6 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and chopped 3/4 cup sugar 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup all purpose flour 1 cup cold water
Directions
For Cinnamon Crisps: Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Roll out pie crusts to 1/8 inch thick on a floured surface. Stir together sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle sugar mixture evenly over dough. Cut into shapes with floured cookie cutters. Transfer to an ungreased baking pan, spacing 1 inch apart. Bake 4 to 6 minutes until lightly browned. Transfer crisps to racks to cool.
For Apple Dip: Combine apples, sugar, cinnamon and butter in a large skillet. Cook, stirring frequently, until apples are tender. Whisk together flour and water in a small bowl until smooth. Add to apple mixture and heat to a boil. Boil, stirring, 2 minutes until mixture is thickened. Transfer dip to a bowl and serve with cinnamon crisps.
Makes about 24 to 36 crisps and 3 cups dip.
