Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 1/2 cups sugar 1 cup all purpose flour 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 cup vegetable oil 4 large egg whites, beaten to blend 2 tsp. vanilla extract 2/3 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8x8 inch square baking pan. Combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Blend in oil, egg whites and vanilla. Stir in walnuts. Scrape batter into prepared pan. Bake about 30 minutes until edges are browned and center is puffed. Cover brownies with foil while hot. Refrigerate overnight. Cut into squares.
Makes about 16 brownies.
