Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate 1/2 cup butter 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 large eggs 1 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup cocoa powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 cup milk 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Melt together chocolate and butter in a large saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat. Whisk in sugar and eggs. Sift together flour, cocoa and baking powder and stir into batter. Add milk and vanilla and stir until smooth. Stir in walnuts. Drop batter by rounded tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake about 12 minutes until cookies are set. Cool 2 minutes on pan. Transfer cookies to racks and cool completely. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
Makes about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
