Brownies: 1/3 cup softened butter 1 cup sugar 3 large egg whites 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2/3 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt
Glaze: 2/3 cup powdered sugar 2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract 3 to 4 tsp. hot water
Directions
For Brownies: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly coat an 8x8 inch baking pan with nonstick spray. Cream together butter and sugar in a large bowl. Beat in egg whites. Sift together flour, cocoa and baking powder in a medium bowl. Stir in salt. Gradually add to butter mixture. Spread batter in the prepared pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Transfer brownies to a rack and cool.
For Glaze: Stir together powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla and enough hot water to form a spreadable consistency. Spread glaze over cooled brownies. Cut into squares.
