Recipe submitted by chefdude7263
Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 cup butter, softened 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup brown sugar 2 large eggs 2 tsp. vanilla extract 12 ounce package bittersweet chocolate chips 1 1/2 cups mini pretzels, chopped
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line the inside of a 13x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper. Stir together the flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl. Combine the butter and both sugars in a large bowl and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Mix in the dry ingredients. Stir in the chocolate chips and pretzels. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake about 30 minutes until golden(the center may not be quite set). Transfer the pan to a rack and cool completely. Lift the bar out of the pan using the parchment paper as an aid. Cut into squares. Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature.
Makes about 2 dozen bars.
