Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 cups all purpose flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 cup butter, room temperature 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup brown sugar 2 large eggs 2 tsp. vanilla extract 12 ounces bittersweet chocolate chunks 1 cup chopped pecans
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line the inside of a 9x13 inch baking pan with foil. Butter foil. Sift together flour and baking powder into a medium bowl. Stir in salt. Cream together butter and both sugars in a large bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Beat in the flour mixture on low speed. Stir in the chocolate chunks and pecans. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake brownies about 25 to 30 minutes until set and golden brown. Transfer the pan to a rack and cool brownies 30 minutes. Using the foil as an aid, remove the brownies from the pan and cool completely. Invert the brownies onto a cutting board and peel off foil. Turn brownies right side up and cut into squares.
Makes about 1 1/2 dozen brownies.
