Crust: 1 cup all purpose flour 1/4 cup sugar 1/2 cup cold, diced butter
Filling: 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup all purpose flour 2 large eggs 4 tbsp. butter, melted and cooled 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips 1 cup chopped macadamia nuts
Directions
For Crust: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blend together flour and sugar in a food processor. Add butter and blend until coarse crumbs form. Press the crust mixture evenly into the bottom and 3/4 inch up the sides of an 8 inch square glass baking dish. Bake crust about 15 minutes until edges are golden brown. Transfer the dish to a rack and cool crust while preparing filling.
For Filling: Whisk together sugar, flour, eggs, butter and vanilla in a large bowl. Stir in mini chocolate chips and macadamia nuts. Pour the filling over the prepared crust. Bake about 50 minutes until the filling is golden brown and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Transfer dish to a rack and cool completely. Cut into squares.
