Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1/4 cup sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 2 cups buttermilk 2/3 cup vegetable oil 4 large eggs, beaten to blend 1 1/4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, oil and eggs. Stir the egg mixture into the flour until combined.
Preheat waffle iron. For each waffle: pour 1/2 cup of the batter onto the waffle iron. Sprinkle with 1 1/2 tbsp. chocolate chips. Cover and cook until golden. Repeat with remaining batter and chocolate chips.
Makes about 12 waffles.
