Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
12 graham crackers 3/4 cup butter, diced 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips 1 cup chopped almonds, walnuts or pecans
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 15x10 inch baking pan with foil, leaving a 2 inch overhang at each end. Line bottom of pan tightly with graham crackers. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Add sugar and salt and cook, whisking, 1 minute. Pour caramel mixture over graham crackers and spread evenly. Bake until golden brown and bubbly, about 10 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over caramel and return to oven for 1 minute until melted. Remove from oven and spread chocolate evenly. Sprinkle nuts over chocolate and let cool 30 minutes on a rack. Freeze 10 to 15 minutes until chocolate is firm. Lift crackers from pan using overhanging foil. Peel foil off of crackers and cut into squares.
Makes about 1 1/2 pounds.
