Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
3/4 cup cake flour 1/4 cup cocoa 1/2 cup sugar 1 1/4 cups egg whites, room temperature 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 cup sugar 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Sift together cake flour and cocoa. Stir in 1/2 cup sugar. Beat egg whites to soft peaks. Sprinkle cream of tartar and salt over. Gradually add 1 cup sugar. Beat to stiff peaks. Fold in flour mixture and vanilla. Pour batter into ungreased tube pan and bake 1 hour or until toothpick tester comes out clean.
Makes 1 cake.
