Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 1/2 pounds venison steaks 1 cup milk 3 large eggs, beaten to blend 2 cups crushed saltine crackers 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper vegetable oil for frying
Directions
Line a sheet pan with wax paper. Pound steaks out to 1/2 inch thick on a flat surface. Stir together milk and eggs in a pie plate. Stir together crushed crackers, salt and pepper in a separate pie plate. Coat the venison steaks with the egg mixture then dredge in the cracker mixture to coat, pressing crumbs lightly to adhere. Place coated steaks on the prepared pan. Pour oil to a depth of 1 inch into a large, deep skillet. Heat oil to 350 degrees. Add venison steaks to the hot oil and fry about 5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer steaks to paper towels to drain. Serve hot.
Serves 3 to 4.
