Chicken Fried Steak Strips with Creamy Mustard Dipping Sauce

Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Steak: 1 pound flank steak, cut across the grain into 1/2 inch wide strips 1/4 cup soy sauce 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1/4 tsp. vegetable oil 1 tsp. red wine vinegar 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper 1 tsp. minced fresh garlic 3 cups coarse fresh breadcrumbs 5 large eggs, beaten to blend vegetable oil for frying
Dipping Sauce: 1/4 cup whole grain mustard 1/2 cup mayonnaise
Directions
For Steak: Stir together soy sauce, lemon juice, oil, vinegar, pepper, cayenne and garlic in a large bowl. Add flank steak strips and stir to coat. Let stand 10 minutes. Place breadcrumbs in a large pie plate. Place beaten eggs in a separate pie plate. Remove the steak strips from the marinade and dip in the egg. Dredge steak strips in the breadcrumbs to coat. Pour oil into a large skillet to 1/4 inch deep. Heat oil over medium high heat. Fry breaded steak in batches, about 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown, turning once. Drain steak strips on paper towels. Serve chicken fried steak with dipping sauce.
For Sauce: Stir together mustard and mayonnaise in a small bowl.
Serves 4.
