Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
6 cups cubed country-style bread 6 slices bacon, chopped 1/4 cup butter 2 medium onions, peeled and chopped 4 stalks celery, chopped 1 1/2 tsp. crumbled dried rosemary 1 pound chestnuts, shelled, and chopped 1/4 cup minced fresh parsley 2 cups chicken broth
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Arrange bread cubes in a single layer on a sheet pan and bake, stirring occasionally, untyil lightly toasted, about 20 minutes. Transfer bread to a large bowl. Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Add butter, onions, celery and rosemary to skillet and cook until softened, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add chestnuts and cook 1 minute, stirring. Add mixture to bread cubes and toss to combine Stir in parsley, salt and pepper. Drizzle with broth and stir until evenly moistened. Stuff turkey or bake, covered, in a buttered baking dish about 60 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 30 minutes.
Serves 8 to 10.
