Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 cups all purpose flour 1 cup yellow cornmeal 3 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 cup butter, diced 1 cup grated cheddar cheese 1 cup fresh or frozen thawed corn kernels 1 1/2 cups heavy or whipping cream
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Stir together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Cut in butter until coarse crumbs form. Stir in cheddar and corn kernels. Stir in cream just until dough comes together. Roll out dough to 3/4 inches thick. Cut out biscuits with a 1 1/2 inch round biscuit cutter and place1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets. Gather and roll scraps. Cut out additional biscuits. Bake biscuits 15 to 18 minutes until lightly browned. Cool on a rack.
Makes about 3 dozen biscuits.
