Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
8 ounces finely grated Cheddar cheese 1 cup wheat flour 1/4 cup wheat germ 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper 3 tbsp. vegetable oil 1/4 cup milk 1/3 cup finely chopped pecans
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease the inside of an 8 inch square baking dish. Toss together Cheddar and flour in a large bowl until cheese is well coated. Add wheat germ, baking powder, salt and cayenne and toss to blend. Stir in oil, milk and pecans until well blended. Press the dough lightly into the bottom of the prepared dish. Bake about 20 to 25 minutes until set and golden. Transfer dish to a rack and cool completely. Cut into 2 inch squares.
Makes about 1 1/2 dozen bars.
