Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 large whole cooked crabs, cracked 2 cups soft fresh breadcrumbs 1/2 cup milk 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 cup chopped onion 2 large cloves garlic, chopped 2 tbsp. chopped fresh chives 2 tsp. chopped jalapeno chili 1/4 tsp. crumbled dried thyme 1/4 tsp. ground cloves 3 tbsp. fresh lemon juice 2 tbsp. fresh lime juice 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. grated lime peel
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove crab meat from shells. Reserve shells. Place breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Stir in milk and crab meat and mix well. Heat oil in a medium skillet. Add onion, garlic, chives, jalapeno, thyme and cloves. Cook about 5 minutes until onion is tender. Stir in crab mixture. Cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove skillet from heat and stir in lemon and lime juices, salt and pepper. Spoon mixture into the crab shells and place on a sheet pan. Sprinkle stuffing with lime peel and bake 10 minutes until heated through. Serve immediately.
Serves 2.
