Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 cup all purpose flour 2/3 cup sugar 1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder 2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup evaporated milk 1 tsp. vegetable oil 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate morsels 1 cup dark brown sugar 1 3/4 cups hot water 1/4 cup instant cappuccino coffee mix
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x9 inch square baking pan. Combine flour, sugar, 2 tbsp. cocoa powder, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Add evaporated milk, oil and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Stir in chocolate morsels. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
Stir together brown sugar and remaining 1/4 cup cocoa in a small bowl. Sprinkle cocoa mixture evenly over batter. Mix together hot water and coffee mix in a small bowl, stirring until coffee is dissolved. Pour coffee mixture over batter-Do not stir. Bake about 40 minutes until cake springs back lightly when touched in center. Transfer cake to a rack and cool slightly. Serve warm.
Serves 9.
