Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
three 16 ounce cans baked beans 1/3 cup light molasses 3 tbsp. prepared mustard 2 tbsp. cider vinegar 1 tsp. minced onion 16 ounce package hot dogs, halved 1 1/2 cups dry biscuit mix 1/2 cup water 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 1/3 cup yellow cornmeal
Directions
Stir together the baked beans, molasses, mustard, cider vinegar and onion in an 8 cup shallow metal casserole pan. Arrange the hot dog halves down the middle. Cover the casserole pan and cook about 8 inches above low heat for about 40 minutes until hot and bubbly. Stir together the biscuit mix and water in a medium bowl. Drop tablespoonfuls of the biscuit batter over the top of the hot casserole. Brush the biscuit batter with the vegetable oil. Sprinkle the cornmeal over the top. Cover the casserole and continue cooking about 20 minutes until the biscuits are done. Serve hot.
Serves 6.
