Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, divided 1/2 cup plus 2/3 cup butter, room temperature 1 cup pecan halves 1 cup milk chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, 1 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup butter in a medium bowl. Mix until fine crumbs form. Press the crumbs evenly into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 inch baking pan. Combine 2/3 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Continue boiling 1 minute, stirring. Sprinkle the pecan halves over the prepared crust. Pour the caramel mixture over the pecans. Bake about 18 to 22 minutes until caramel is bubbly and crust is light golden brown. Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let chips stand 2 to 3 minutes until partially melted. Swirl melted chocolate with the tip of a knife. Transfer pan to a rack and cool bars completely. Cut into bars. Refrigerate bars in an airtight container.
Makes 2 to 3 dozen bars.
