Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 pound lean ground beef 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 tbsp. finely chopped onion 1 tbsp. tomato paste 1 tsp. dried oregano 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted 8 tomato slices 8 slices mozzarella cheese
Directions
Preheat broiler. Mix ground beef, Parmesan, onion, tomato paste, oregano, salt and pepper in a large bowl until just combined. Form into 4 patties and divide between bottom hamburger buns. Place on a broilerproof pan. Broil burgers 4 inches from the heat about 8 to 10 minutes until cooked through. Top each burger with 2 of the tomato slices and 2 mozzarella slices. Broil an additional 1 to 2 minutes until cheese is melted. Place hamburger bun tops on burgers and serve immediately.
Makes 4 burgers.
