Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 1/2 pounds beef chuck roast 1 tsp. meat tenderizer 1 1/4 cups soy sauce 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1/4 cup bourbon 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 1/2 cups water 2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
Directions
Sprinkle roast with meat tenderizer. Stir together soy sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, bourbon, Worcestershire, water and garlic in a large bowl. Add chuck roast and turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate roast at least 6 hours or overnight, turning once.
Preheat broiler. Remove the roast from the marinade and transfer to a broiler pan. Broil roast about 5 inches from the heat for about 30 minutes per side. Transfer roast to a serving plate. Cover and let stand 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Serves 6.
