Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate 1 cup butter 1/4 tsp. black pepper-yes, black pepper :) 4 large eggs, beaten to blend 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 1/3 cup Kahlua liqueur 2 tbsp. vodka 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line the bottom of a 13x9 inch baking pan with wax paper. Melt together chocolate, butter and pepper in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and cool. Beat together eggs, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl. Stir in chocolate mixture, Kahlua and vodka. Stir together flour, salt and baking powder and stir into batter. Stir in walnuts and spread evenly in the prepared pan. Bake about 25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan on a rack. Cut into bars.
Makes about 2 1/2 dozen brownies.
