Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 8 or 9 inch unbaked pie crust 3/4 cup sugar 1/3 cup cocoa powder 2 tbsp. all purpose flour 1/4 cup margarine 1/3 cup milk 2 large eggs 21 ounce can cherry pie filling, divided 9 ounce container whipped topping 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, grated
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine sugar, cocoa, and flour in a medium saucepan. Stir in milk and margarine. Heat mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Whisk together eggs in a small bowl. Whisk in some of hot cocoa mixture. Return mixture to pan. Fold in half the can of cherry pie filling. Pour cocoa mixture into crust. Bake 35 to 45 minutes until center is set. Cool pie on a rack to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. Stir together 2 cups whipped topping and grated chocolate. Spread mixture evenly over top of pie. Spoon remaining cherry pie filling over. Top with remaining whipped topping. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving.
Serves 8 to 10.
