Best Old Fashioned Oklahoma Chocolate Cobbler

Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Filling: 2 cups sugar, divided 2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder 2 cups water 1/4 cup butter
Topping: 1 cup sugar 1 cup all purpose flour 1 tbsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup milk 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions
For Filling: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Coat the inside of a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray. Stir together sugar and cocoa powder in a medium saucepan. Add water and butter. Cook, stirring frequently, over low heat until filling comes to a boil. Pour filling into the prepared pan.
For Topping: Stir together sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, milk and vanilla in a medium bowl. Drizzle topping from side to side over filling. Bake cobbler 20 minutes until filling is set. Transfer cobbler to a rack and cool about 30 minutes before serving.
Serves 6 to 8.
