Barbecued Pork Sandwiches with Easy Barbecue Sauce

Barbecued Pork: 4 1/2 to 5 pound boneless pork shoulder roast, fat trimmed 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. celery seed 1/8 tsp. onion powder 1/8 tsp. garlic powder 1/8 tsp. ground cloves dash cayenne pepper Easy barbecue sauce 12 hoagie rolls, split and toasted
Easy Barbecue Sauce: 8 ounce can tomato sauce 1 cup ketchup 1 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1/4 cup white vinegar 2 tbsp. worcestershire sauce, 1 tbsp. yellow mustard 2 tsp. chili powder 1 tsp. minced garlic
Directions
For Pork: Prepare grill. Stir together salt, pepper, celery seed, onion powder, garlic powder, cloves and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Sprinkle spice mixture evenly over pork and rub in with your hands. Place a rack in a roasting pan. Place pork on the rack. Place the roasting pan on the grill rack. Pour 1/2 inch of water into the roasting pan. Cover and grill pork about 4 hours until very tender, adding more water to the pan as needed. Remove pork from the grill and cover loosely with foil. Let pork stand 30 minutes. Shred pork and stir in Easy Barbecue Sauce. Spoon onto rolls and serve.
Serves 10 to 12.
For Easy Barbecue Sauce: Combine tomato sauce, ketchup, onion, green bell pepper, brown sugar, vinegar, worcestershire, mustard, chili powder and garlic in a medium saucepan. Heat to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes.
