Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 pounds ground beef 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 loaf French bread 2 tbsp. softened butter 2 cups sour cream 2 tomatoes, cored, seeded and diced 1 large green bell pepper, cored, seeded and diced 3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown ground beef with onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain fat. Stir in salt, garlic powder and pepper. Remove skillet from heat and stir in sour cream. Cut French bread in half lengthwise and place on a sheet pan. Butter the cut side of both halves. Spoon the beef mixture over the bottom half of the bread. Sprinkle tomatoes, bell pepper and Cheddar over beef. Place top half of bread over. Bake sandwich about 20 minutes until the cheese is melted. Remove sandwich from oven and cut into 6 to 8 pieces.
Serves 6 to 8.
