Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
6 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced 1/2 cup sugar 2 tbsp. lemon juice 1/2 cup sifted all purpose flour 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 cup chopped pecans 4 tbsp. cold diced butter
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9 inch pie plate. Toss together apple slices, sugar and lemon juice in a large bowl. Transfer apples to the prepared pie plate. Combine flour, brown sugar, nutmeg and pecans in a medium bowl. Cut in diced butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle pecan mixture evenly over apples and press down lightly. Bake about 45 minutes until apples are bubbly and topping is golden. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
Serves 6.
