Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Topping: 1/3 cup all purpose flour 1/3 cup quick cooking oats 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup butter, room temperature
Cake: 1 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup sour cream 1/4 cup butter, room temperature 1 large egg 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup chopped pecans 2 cups peeled, thinly sliced Granny Smith apples
Directions
For Topping: Combine flour, oats, brown sugar and butter in a small bowl. Stir until well combined and crumbly.
For Cake: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease the inside of a 9 inch square baking pan. Combine flour, sugar, sour cream, butter, egg, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Beat 2 to 3 minutes until well mixed. Stir in pecans. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Arrange the apple slices in rows on top of the batter. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples. Bake cake about 35 to 40 minutes until topping is golden brown and apples are tender. Cool cake 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Serves 6 to 9.
