Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Filling: 1 cup brown sugar 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon 3 1/2 pounds Granny Smith apples, cored, peeled and sliced
Topping: 1 cup all purpose flour 1 cup sugar 1 cup cold butter, diced
Directions
For Filling: Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Butter a 13x9 inch glass baking dish. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl. Add apples and toss to coat. Transfer apples to the prepared dish.
For Topping: Combine flour and sugar in a medium bowl. Cut in butter until coarse meal forms. Sprinkle flour mixture evenly over apples. Bake crisp 20 minutes. Reduce oven to 350 degrees. Bake an additional 30 minutes until apples are tender and topping is golden brown. Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
Serves 8 to 10.
