Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Crust: 3/4 cup all purpose flour 1/4 cup sliced almonds 1 tbsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 7 tbsp. cold butter, diced 1/2 tbsp. cold water
Filling: 1 cup sliced almonds 1/3 cup sugar 8 ounce package cream cheese, room temperature 2 large eggs 1/4 tsp. almond extract
Assorted fresh fruit or berries for garnish
Directions
For Crust: Combine flour, 1/4 cup almonds. sugar and salt in a food processor and finely grind. Pulse in butter until ir looks like coarse meal. Add water and blend until dough comes together. Flatten into a disc, wrap in plastic and refrigerate 20 minutes. Roll dough out to line a 9 inch removable bottom tart pan. Freeze 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Bake cust until golden, about 15 minutes. Cool. Reduce oven to 325 degrees.
For Filling: Finely grind 1 cup almonds with sugar in a food processor. Add cream cheese and blend until smooth. Add eggs and extract and blend. Spoon into crust and bake until set, about 18 to 20 minutes. Cool completely. Garnish with assorted fresh fruit and berries.
Makes 1 tart.
