Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
6 large eggs 1/2 cup orange juice 1/3 cup milk 1/4 cup orange flavored liqueur 1 1/2 tbsp. brown sugar 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg 8 thick slices white or wheat bread 3 tbsp. butter
Directions
Whisk together eggs, orange juice, milk, orange liqueur, brown sugar and nutmeg in a large, shallow baking dish. Add bread slices and let soak 2 minutes. Turn bread over and let soak an additional 2 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add bread slices in batches and cook about 3 minutes per side until golden. Serve hot.
Makes 8 French toast.
