Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1/2 cup butter, softened 16 slices sandwich bread 8 thin slices ham 8 thin slices Swiss cheese melted butter
Directions
Butter 1 side of each bread slice. Top the unbuttered side of 8 slices bread with ham and Swiss cheese. Place remaining bread slices, buttered side up, on top of ham and Swiss. Tuck in any overhanging meat or cheese.
Preheat waffle iron to medium. Brush iron generously with melted butter. Cook sandwiches in batches in waffle iron about 4 to 6 minutes until bread is crisp and golden. Serve sandwiches immediately.
Makes 8 sandwiches.
