Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
two 8 ounce cube steaks 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 2 tbsp. butter, divided 1/3 cup minced shallot 2 tsp. dried rubbed sage 1/3 cup dry vermouth 1/2 cup heavy or whipping cream 2 tbsp. whole-grain dijon mustard
Directions
Season steaks with salt and pepper. Melt 1 tbsp. butter in a large skillet. Add steaks and cook until browned, about 3 minutes per side. Transfer steaks to a plate. Melt remaining 1 tbsp. butter in skillet. Add shallots and sage and cook 1 minute. Add vermouth and boil 30 seconds. Stir in cream and mustard and simmer until thickened, about 1 minute. Spoon sauce over steaks and serve.
Serves 2.
